The New Craftsman is the oldest established Art Gallery and Craft shop in St Ives. Now in its 54th year, The New Craftsman is the oldest art gallery in St Ives and has a prestigious history associated with the St Ives Art School and the Leach Pottery. It is now the very best in contemporary Cornish art and craft.
Established in 1962 by Janet Leach, the wife of Bernard Leach and an acclaimed potter in her own right, Janet was later joined by business partner Mary ‘Boots’ Redgrave. The gallery has been owned since 2008 by Ylenia and Paul Haase and continues to be regarded as one of the country’s most important and influential galleries.
