The heart of Chy Lowen is the open plan living, kitchen and dining space that allows all of the family to be together whilst cooking, eating, watching TV or listening to music. Oak wood flooring is laid throughout the ground floor, with double doors opening from the large hallway into this superb bright area.

Living Area

A fantastic area to put your feet up and enjoy the great entertainment package provided. The modern white sofa’s surround the Home Cinema which features a 42″ LCD TV with full Sky package including Movies and Sport, blu-ray/DVD player, full Dolby 5.1 surround sound, integral iPod dock and Playstation II. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also provided.

Although the house is fully centrally heated, the lounge area also benefits from a contemporary remote controlled ‘living flame’ gas fire.

Access to the front decking and to the rear garden is through French doors at either end of the lounge area, which is further illuminated by two large velux windows in the vaulted ceiling. The lounge has beautiful views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse.

Dining Area

With seating for eight, the dining area sits alongside French windows allowing access to a balcony and sea views out across the Hayle estuary to Gwithian and the Towans.

If you prefer to eat out, then Carbis Bay offers some superb restaurants within walking distance and in St Ives you will find a plethora of restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Kitchen

The sleek kitchen has a real wow factor about it, with Corian work tops, central twin electric oven and large gas hob with cylindrical extractor hood suspended above. It is equipped with all the modern conveniences you might expect including large American style fridge freezer with ice machine and water dispenser, coffee machine, toaster, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Ample storage is available and three separate windows overlook the rear garden.

Bedroom One with En-suite Bathroom

Located on the first floor is the spacious master bedroom with French doors providing access to a glazed Juliet balcony, with views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse, Gwithian and the St Ives branch line. There is also a Velux window providing additional lighting. The bedroom has a sumptuous super-king sized bed, bedside tables, dressing table, chest of drawers, wardrobe, clock/radio with iPod dock and wall mounted 32″ LCD Freeview TV.

Both first floor bedrooms and the stair case leading up are fully carpeted.

Bedroom Two with En-suite Shower Room

Located on the first floor, this light and airy room provides probably the best sea views in the house. Bedroom two has a king sized bed, bedside tables, dressing table, chest of drawers, wardrobe and wall mounted Freeview TV with integrated DVD/CD Player. French doors provide access to a Juliet balcony with views across St Ives Bay to the Godrevy Lighthouse, Hayle Estuary and down to Carbis Bay Beach itself. There is also a Velux window providing additional lighting.

Bedroom Three with En-suite Shower Room

Located on the ground floor and the sunniest of the bedrooms, bedroom 3 has a double bed, bedside tables, oak flooring, wall mounted Freeview TV with integrated DVD and CD alarm clock. French doors provide direct access to the rear deck and gardens.

Bedroom Four

The large 4th bedroom is another bright room, located on the ground floor. It is provided with two single beds which can be arranged as a super-king sized upon request. The bedroom also offers bedside tables, dressing table, wardrobe, under bed storage, oak flooring, wall mounted Freeview TV with integrated DVD/CD player and French doors which access a private glazed balcony. The balcony is a peaceful place to enjoy the views across to Gwithian and the Hayle Estuary.

Fresh bed linen is provided in all bedrooms, along with a selection of luxury towels.

Bathroom One

The master bedroom offers a spacious en-suite bathroom, including large bath with overhead rainfall shower and separate hand unit, wash basin with underneath storage and mirror above, WC, heated towel rail, under floor heating and is tiled throughout.

Shower Room Two

This shower room is en-suite to bedroom two and features a large walk in double rainfall shower, WC, free standing wash basin with storage underneath and mirror above and is tiled throughout.

Shower Room Three

This shower room is en-suite to bedroom three and features a shower, WC, basin and is fully tiled.

Family Bathroom

The large family bathroom is located on the ground floor near to the living area and bedrooms 3 and 4. The large bath also has a shower over head with shower screen, toilet and large wash basin with mirror above. The bathroom is tiled throughout and has both a heated towel rail and under floor heating.

The outside areas of Chy Lowen are perfect for watching the children play, alfresco eating or pre dinner drinks. With several areas to choose from, you can also always find a quiet spot to read a book and hopefully soak up the Cornish sun.

Garden

The rear garden faces south-west and is something of a sun-trap. Given it’s sheltered position and Cornwall’s climate, it’s easy to enjoy the outside through all but the wettest of days. The garden is fully secure providing a private and safe place for children and dogs to run around.

Running the full length of the property is a deck with access to it from both the living area and bedroom three, with steps up to the lawn. There is a large decked dining area with table and seating, along with ample outside lighting.

At the front of the property is a raised deck, accessed from the living area and front door, with glazed balustrade. This deck is particularly sunny in the morning and is a great place to eat breakfast while enjoying the views across St Ives Bay.

Balconies

Both the master bedroom and bedroom two offer Juliet balconies with views across St Ives Bay. There is an additional glazed balcony which is private to and accessed from bedroom four with views to Gwithian.

  • "Probably the best view we've ever had of any holiday villa we've stayed at, this includes the south of France, lake district, Devon, Germany etc. Just amazing! The house was very comfortable and had some little touches that we really loved - binoculars, really well equipped kitchen and lots of mugs, so you don't constantly have to wash up. The large fridge freezer was great and made sure we enjoyed the best of the local produce. The beds were all really comfortable and the linen good so we all slept really well. Carbis Bay is a great location, really quiet being residentail but a short walk to St Ives for all the hustle and bustle, perfect. Porthmeor beach cafe - we saw two seals swimming past whilst eating some of the best tapas and fish I've ever had . Magical! The Queens hotel St Ives - we pitched up on a rainy night and had some wonderful food, check out the menu it is just superb. And then to top it of they had an open mic night, a great time for everyone. Godolphin - we went for the bluebells and spent a great time at the property having a tour of the house and enjoying the local arts and crafts at the food and crafts fair.Glendurgan gardens - beautiful and with a great history.Clamoring over the rocks at Godrevy point and again we were joined by a seal for just a few minutes but they were very special moments.We always find Cornwall a special pace but this property made sure we could make the most of out time, even if just walking down to the beach and watching the waves roll in."

We liked the open plan living area and the fact that all the bedrooms had a bathroom. It was in a lovely location with wonderful sea views. Very convenient to join the coastal path and walk the very scenic route in to St Ives or down to Carbis Bay beach. The nearest footpath to do this is just down the road in Parc Owles. All the beaches around here are lovely, Porthkidney is just round from Carbis Bay Beach where dogs can go all year round, although they can go on Carbis Bay beach before 8 a.m. and after 7 p.m. Lots of nice restaurants but we would highly recommend having a meal at Porthminster Beach Cafe and we also had a nice meal at The Captain’s Table which is upstairs in The Sloop Inn. It’s a nice walk in to St Ives in the evening and easy to get a taxi back to the house if too late to walk back. We had a wonderful week with lots of walking and look forward to coming back again soon."

In order to make a booking, please either click on the Booking Calendar dates or enter your Arrive and Depart dates of your holiday, please bear in mind these should be a Changeover Day during April to October or in any school holiday period, unless at late notice.

For late notice breaks ie arrivals within 7 days, all breaks are discounted by 25% unless the owner has set a minimum rental, the dates can overlap a changeover day if the Arrive Date is within 7 days.

Short stays of 3 nights minimum are available between October and March, excluding bank holidays and school holidays. If booked in advance, the short break cannot overlap a changeover day.
