The Porthole is a fabulous vintage chic duplex holiday apartment located in the centre of St Ives town in Royal Square. Perfectly positioned to take advantage of all that this beautiful Cornish seaside resort has to offer, it has recently been fully renovated, with exquisite, elegant interiors throughout and boasts beautiful views across the roof tops of the town and on to Godrevy lighthouse, making this central holiday home a real pleasure to return to after a long day exploring.
The Porthole is located within Chapel View apartments in St Ives and is on the first floor.

There is no parking provided although there are several car parks which are in close proximity to The Porthole. A weekly car park pass can be purchased from the council run long stay car parks for £47.00 per week.
Access to The Porthole is up a flight of stairs to the first floor via 20 steps.

The fabulous galleried living area is located on the first floor which is accessed via a solid oak staircase. This light and airy space is meticulously furnished with vintage inspired décor, including two comfortable three seater sofas, trunk coffee table, side table with reading lamp and three floor standing lamps. Entertainment is provided with a LCD television with Full Sky package including Movies and Sport, Playstation III with a selection of games and Blu-ray DVDs, complimentary Wi-Fi and iPod dock music system with DAB radio & CD player. There is also a selection of board games, toys and books. Six Velux windows open right out to allow the fresh Cornish air in with two of the windows offering beautiful views across the roof tops of St Ives to Godrevy lighthouse.
The dining area is located on the ground floor of the apartment within the open plan kitchen space, ideal for planning the next day’s activities with the evening’s chosen cook?. A circular regency style solid wood table with four matching upholstered chairs are provided.
The contemporary high spec kitchen is located on the ground floor and is flooded with natural light via the Velux windows above. Solid oak flooring can be found in the kitchen and throughout the living areas of this beautiful apartment. Fully fitted gloss units and charcoal Silestone work surfaces add to the kitchen’s stylish feel, with integrated appliances including an oven/grill, 4 burner gas hob, extractor fan, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher, along with a coffee machine, microwave, hand held blender and all the utensils and crockery you could require.
Bedroom one is situated off the small lobby off the kitchen on the ground floor which gives access to the bedrooms and bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a king size bed and is beautifully made with crisp white Egyptian cotton bed linen, scatter cushions and throw. Two built-in wardrobes provide ample storage along with a bedside table and chest of drawers. Two reading lamps, mirror, LCD Freeview television with built-in DVD, iPod dock and hairdryer are also provided. Bedroom Two
Bedroom two is also located off the small lobby with a front facing aspect and provides comfortable twin beds. Egyptian cotton bed linen, a bedside table, reading lamp, bespoke wardrobe with hanging and shelf space, LCD Freeview television with built-in DVD, iPod dock and hairdryer can also be found within.
A complimentary travel cot and highchair are provided; please provide your own cot bedding.
The contemporary family bathroom can be found off the kitchen close to both bedrooms. The white bathroom suite consists of a WC, wash basin, p-shaped double end bath with power shower overhead, a chrome heated towel rail to keep your towels nice and toasty, glass shelves provide useful storage and a shaver point is provided. The bathroom is tiled with mosaic and porcelain ceramics, throughout.
A bath sheet, bath towel and hand towel are provided for each guest, together with complimentary White Company toiletries.

We also ate at Ocean Grill (always friendly), Blas (love the atmosphere), Harbour Fish and Chips (nice not to have battered fish), and Porthminster Beach Cafe."
"Our holiday was lovely-thank you, the accommodation was first class. I could not fault it and the little gifts on arrival were a lovely touch and much appreciated. We sampled many of the restaurants in St Ives and all were great-St Andrews Bistro maybe the best. Although we've been to Cornwall many times before, we found new places for us like St Agnes, Porthleven and Cadgwith (spelling may be incorrect!) which were beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Porthole."
"Our break in The Porthole was absolutely fantastic. We loved it! The property was immaculate and was a home from home- perfect with a 3 week old baby! it was so convenient for town and the fact we had the parking permit was such a huge money saver! After 32 years of coming to St Ives, I have fallen into a pattern of favourite places, but we love the walk from Lands End to Sennen Cove, watching performances in the Minnack (summer obviously), shopping in Falmouth, but catching the boat from the park and float. We flew to the Scilly Isles last year for the day, I'd caught the boat a few times as a child. Eateries in St Ives... There's loads and loads, but my guilty pleasure is the Kingfisher Restaurant. Best fish and chips!"

"We had a lovely time in The Porthole, beautifully decorated and the kitchen was extremely well equipped (I think it was more equipped than ours at home! :-) ). St Ives was lovely and luckily the weather was good so we could spend some time on the beaches. In St Ives I would recommend the two restaurants - Rhubarbs and the Sea Food Cafe. The Sea Food Cafe was lovely, but seems very popular as we had to book four days in advance to go on a Tuesday night. One evening we went to the Minack theatre and saw Macbeth which we really enjoyed, the theatre is a lovely setting cut into the rocks. Mousehole was also nice to walk around, with little cafes and small galleries."

For late notice breaks ie arrivals within 7 days, all breaks are discounted by 25% unless the owner has set a minimum rental, the dates can overlap a changeover day if the Arrive Date is within 7 days.
Short stays of 3 nights minimum are available between October and March, excluding bank holidays and school holidays. If booked in advance, the short break cannot overlap a changeover day.
