This beautiful two bedroom apartment is set in the heart of the town, yet enjoys a peaceful and secluded position with easy access, suntrap terrace for al fresco dining or simply watching the world go by.
Upon entering Whistler you will certainly get a sense of spaciousness with the high original ceilings which create a lovely bright and airy ambience. You are sure to be drawn to the picture bay window which boasts possibly one of the best views over St Ives, the harbour and the bay beyond. This beautiful apartment has sympathetically been restored, maintaining many of its original features, including a Victorian feature fireplace and cast iron vintage radiators.
Two cream leather sofas seat five comfortably and are perfectly positioned for taking in the fabulous views. You will find some lovely period pieces of furniture, including a large over mantle mirror, side tables and reading lamps. For those who can pull themselves away from the view, a great entertainment system is provided, including a 37” LCD television with full Sky package including Movies and Sport, integrated DVD with a collection of DVDs and a Blu Ray DVD player, Playstation III with a selection of games and complimentary WiFi. Solid Oak flooring throughout.
The dining area sits perfectly within the living area bay window, offering guests a fabulous view whilst dining. The vintage table seats four, however can be unfolded to seat two perfectly for a romantic meal in.
Should you decide to dine out during your stay, you are truly spoilt for choice with an outstanding selection of restaurants right on your doorstep, serving freshly caught seafood. You could even dine out for breakfast. The Ocean Grill café does a fabulous selection of continental and cooked options.
Within the entrance hallway, you will find a useful coat hanging area.
The spacious kitchen offers plentiful storage within the fitted oak units and ample preparation space on the black granite effect worktop. Integrated appliances comprise of a five burner gas hob with extractor fan above, dishwasher, oven/grill, microwave, fridge, freezer and washer/dryer. You will find a wonderful selection of utensils including toaster and kettle, along with ample crockery, cutlery and glassware. You will also find a utility cupboard where the iron and ironing board can be found. A DAB radio is provided and double French doors open out onto the rear sun trap, decked terrace.
Bedroom One with En-suite
The master bedroom is positioned to the front of Whislter, boasting another fabulous large bay window and an en-suite shower room. The views are simply amazing and can be enjoyed from the comfort of the beautifully dressed king size bed. This room is bright and spacious and offers another Victorian feature fireplace with over mantle mirror. A double oak wardrobe, matching bedside tables with reading lamps, consol table, hairdryer and a 22” LCD television with integral DVD and linked Sky+ from the lounge can be found.
Bedroom Two with En-suite
Bedroom two is located to the side of Tate Reach, taking advantage of the views across Porthmeor beach and the Island via the large window. Neutral carpet is laid throughout and two shaker style twin beds are provided. A bedside table with reading lamp, oak chest of drawers, clothes hanging area, vanity mirror, chair and hairdryer are provided. You will find both roman blinds and curtains at the window and a 22” LCD television with integral DVD and linked Sky+ from the lounge is provided. Bedroom two offers an en-suite bathroom with a sumptuous whirlpool bath.
Luxury cotton bed linen is provided in both bedrooms with a selection of high quality towels for each guest.
The en-suite shower room to the master bedroom comprises of a shower cubicle, freestanding wash basin with glass shelf and mirror above, WC and a chrome heated towel rail. Contemporary brick style tiling can be found and a tiled window sill provides additional space for storing toiletries.
The large en-suite bathroom to bedroom one offers a wonderful P-shaped whirlpool bath with shower overhead, freestanding wash basin with mirror above, WC, chrome full height heated towel rail and integral mirrored cabinet and shelving. A brick glass window allows light to flood in and the bathroom is fully tiled with white ceramics.
A selection of high quality towels comprising of bath sheet and hand towel are provided per person. Complimentary White Company toiletries are also provided in each bathroom.
Rear Decked Terrace
The rear suntrap terrace is accessed via the kitchen double French doors, and depending on what time of year you visit, the sun can potentially be enjoyed right through the day from 9am – 8pm. Three steps lead you down to a gorgeous, large private terrace, where many a day can be spent in tranquillity. A table and four chairs are provided, ideal for alfresco dining, and a retractable washing line is very useful for drying wet beach gear.

Tate Reach is a magnificent, granite faced, detached house positioned just behind the Tate St Ives and Porthmeor beach. The names of both of the apartments were inspired by two famous artists who had great connections with St Ives.
Whistler is named after the famous American born, British based artist ‘James Whistler’ who visited St Ives in April-May 1884 and stayed in nearby Barnoon Terrace. Wallis is of course named after the well renowned local naïve artist ‘Alfred Wallis’, who’s progressive work, was appreciated by other St Ives artist colony greats such as Ben Nicholson and Kit Wood.

For late notice breaks ie arrivals within 7 days, all breaks are discounted by 25% unless the owner has set a minimum rental, the dates can overlap a changeover day if the Arrive Date is within 7 days.
Short stays of 3 nights minimum are available between October and March, excluding bank holidays and school holidays. If booked in advance, the short break cannot overlap a changeover day.
