“We love Chapel View and are return guests.”

However the dishwasher broke on Wednesday of our stay and I reported to Sykes who said that someone would visit to look at the problem.This never happened and we were not updated. We had to handwash all dishes for the rest of the holiday. Also there were not enough wine glasses for the property for the number of guests. I bought 4 new ones. Also the property was dusty in places and not as clean as in previous years. There were no complimentary toiletries in any of the bathrooms. So overall a ...

“The property location brilliant.”

bathrooms, kitchen, layout brilliant for family of 7, only criticism I had was that possibly previous guest never cleaned pots and pans very well. Blinds,chains alot of them broken and not very clean. Balcony needed swept and the same with the front door as first impressions. Good idea it would be nice if some kitchen and bathroom cleaners were available. That's is me being picky. We all loved our holiday and would return.

“We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chapel View which, for us, was the perfect base for a fabulous week in Cornwall.”

The property was clean, spacious, well equipped and had the most amazing views out over Carbis Bay and towards St Ives. I don't think that the location could have been any better; short walk to the beach, supermarket nearby, easy road access, pub/bar/restaurants walking distance. It was also a real bonus to be able to walk 2 mins to the train station and pick up a train to/from St Ives. We had one issue when we stayed when the latch on a bathroom door seized meaning the door couldn't be opened. However the owners/management company dealt with this issue quickly and efficiently despite it being a bank holiday Monday. Our only constructive feedback would be from a purely practical perspective on elements such as enough dishwasher tablets for the week, more tea mugs, plates/bowls of a better shape/size to fit in the dishwasher. However, these are very minor points that didn't affect what was a fabulous week in Cornwall.

The property

Chapel view is a contemporary reverse-level property located in the charming seaside town of Carbis Bay.

Carbis Bay is a wonderful location for a summer holiday, with three floors and room for up to eight people.

In this busy village, it is hard to find parking, but Chapel View has off-road parking for two cars.

When you arrive, you'll find a spacious hallway with plenty of room for coats and shoes, and to your left, a garage with a washer and dryer.

On the first floor there is a large open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting room for you to unwind in after a long day at the beach.

There's a large dining table for you to have a home-cooked meal which can be prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen.

If the weather permits enjoy a meal alfresco while taking in the stunning views of Carbis Bay Beach from the balcony or the larger elevated terrace, both of which can be reached from this floor.

After dinner, relax in the family sitting room, which has plenty of room for everyone to spread out and watch a movie or play a game on the PlayStation.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor, all with Smart TVs, including a king-size with en-suite shower facilities, a twin with shower facilities and a twin with jack-and-jill access to the family bathroom, which is ideal for relaxing and soaking.

The king-size bedroom on the second floor has a Smart TV, a skylight, and a beautiful view.

Chapel View is just a short walk from the white sands of Carbis Bay Beach, which has a village pub and a variety of restaurants, including a fish and chip shop.

If you're looking for something a little more cultural, you can visit The Saint Ives Museum or the Capt Sir Richard Francis Burton Museum to learn more about the area's history.

For art lovers, there are a number of galleries to choose from, including Tate St Ives, The Leach Pottery, and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.

Take a scenic drive to Penwith Heritage Coast, which offers views of historic ruins and rocky beaches, for truly remarkable views.

Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching. Carbis Bay is truly a wonderful holiday location for those wanting to experience Cornwall's breathtaking coastline.

The accommodation is on three levels, there are internal steps leading up to the lounge area and upstairs bedroom, which has an open staircase. Please note that stair gates can not be fitted to the top or bottom of the stairs due to the design of the stairs.
