“Ideal location.”

Lovely apartment. Some issues with maintenance. Security gate to car park not working. Intercom doesn’t seem to work. Dishwasher not cleaning dishes very well. Otherwise perfect.

“We have stayed in this property several times and over the years our 'welcome pack' has diminished each year.”

On this visit the fridge was totally empty .. no apple juice or chocolate drops .. and not a single tea bag or a sachet of coffee. We have a long train journey, leaving home at 7.45 am and arriving at about 4.30 pm. My husband had to then walk to the local supermarket.

“This was our second visit and it was disappointing compared to our first visit.”

Fan doesn’t work in bathroom, shower in en-suite had no pressure. Changeover day for laundry missing towels for our last week. The bed was very uncomfortable with 2 sheet covers causing lumps and discomfort.

We’re sorry to hear the stay at the apartment didn’t meet your expectations. We weren’t aware of the fan not working in the bathroom, if you had let us know, we would’ve got someone out to fix this right away (we wouldn’t want mould to grow due to condensation). We only replace the towels & linen that are in the basket during changeover day - we’ve had confirmation this did happen on changeover day and any towels in the basket were replaced accordingly. Only small criticism would be - we couldn’t work out how to turn on the TVs in the bedrooms & we couldn’t find the ‘comments’ book anywhere. We had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of the country!

“We had some cleanliness issues with this property.”

It seems that a superficial clean occurs after each stay but the accommodation is in need of a deep clean. We reported the issues whilst there and a cleaner returned to rectify, however a deep clean is still required. The bathrooms smell damp all the time and so did the bath towels. The fans in the bathrooms were clogged with fluff so this won’t help the situation. The accommodation is well proportioned with everything you need but be aware that the TV’s in the bedrooms do not work with the Sky TV or terrestrial, however if you have your own Netflix account then you can sign in to Netflix. The bedrooms are stylish and we suspect recently updated but the living area looks & feels tired and in need of modernisation. We did not find the living room cosy as it’s a big room and the layout not a good use of space. The furniture could do with being replaced. It wasn’t the weather for sitting in the courtyard but we wouldn’t have done so anyway due to the furniture being covered in mould and weeds growing out of the ground all over the place. The location is ideal for access to the train station and beach. Overall this accommodation needs a lot of TLC and we wouldn’t choose to stay here again unfortunately.

“Very disappointing to have no milk on arrival to make a cuppa after a long journey.”

Coffee pods x 8 but no milk pods. No washing up liquid or Jcloth. Always had in the past.

“We have stayed in Carbis bay a number of times and love the area.”

The apartment is deceptively big and feels cosy at the same time. We had a few minor issues around cleanliness which were going to be sorted on our departure (ensuite shower and patio). There are issues with some of the tech equipment in the apartment but could just be because it's the end of a busy season. The tv remote didnt work, the DVD wasn't there in the living room and the Wii console was broken, however, we got lucky with the October weather and didn't need them as much as we thought we would. Would we stay again? Probably not, we would look to try another apartment in the Carbis Bay area just to try something different.

“This is a lovely apartment and was a new location for us who usually stay in the Carbis Beach Apartments which have become very very tired.”

The apartment was modern and provided everything you needed within. There were a few gripes - sadly. The outside seating area was very small and you couldn't really sit outside as everyone walking to/from the car park looked in, so there was no privacy (the same applied if you sat in bed with the curtains open - it also didn't get the sun. The sitting room was very hot as the sun came straight in from early morning and as the windows in the whole apartment didn't open more than a couple of inches, I would imagine the whole apartment will get very hot. The door to the 'patio' did open (when it wanted to as sometimes the lock/handle didn't work). The road noise and constant slamming doors from the car park and the front door, along with the internal doors was really annoying too. We also had a smoker from within Sands who stood outside the sitting room window frequently which meant we had to keep shutting the window/drawing the curtains. However, the building work nearby wasn't an issue which was a bonus.

The living area really is the heart of the home, where you can enjoy sociable open plan living.

Incredibly comfortable two and three seater sofas are provided with a large oak coffee table, oak side table and reading lamp.

Throughout the property local art can be appreciated, helping to create a real seaside atmosphere.

For your entertainment, an LG 37” LCD TV is provided with Sky including Sky Entertainment package, Nintendo Wii including Wii Fit and selection of games, DVD player with a range of films and complimentary Wi-Fi.

A selection of programmed mood lighting helps to create the right ambiance, whatever the occasion.

Dining Area The dining area takes full advantage of the wonderful sea views through the full length floor to ceiling windows.

A glass table with four dark grey leather seats are provided, along with a floor lamp and book case which houses a great selection of cookery, local area and holiday reading books, board games, DVD’s, CD’s and iPod docking station.

If you like to enjoy the delights of local cuisine whilst on holiday, then St Ives is the perfect location with its fantastic array of restaurants.

Why not try Casa Romano, a lovely Italian restaurant located just 10 minutes walk from your apartment? Utility Located off the main hallway, the utility cupboard offers lots of ample storage for suitcases and all of your beach gear.

You can also find a box full of beach toys which are provided for your use during your stay.

The iron, ironing board, clothes airer, high chair and travel cot can all be found here too. Kitchen The contemporary kitchen at Golden Sands makes cooking a real pleasure, with generous storage within the soft close gloss units and ample work top space.

Fantastically appointed with NEFF appliances, including a 5 burner hob with extractor hood above and integrated washer-dryer, dishwasher, microwave, oven-grill, fridge and freezer.

You can find all the utensils you could require along with little extras such as a coffee machine and food mixer.

Two dark grey leather bar stools can be found under the breakfast bar, great for perching and talking to the designated chef. Sleeping Bedroom One with En-suite Attention to detail has really been taken in ensuring the bedrooms are just as well-appointed as the living areas.

The master bedroom is very spacious with excellent storage found within the built-in mirrored wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside drawers.

The king-size bed with under bed storage is impeccably dressed with crisp white Egyptian cotton bed linen, throw and cushions, making it very tempting to jump straight in.

Additional lighting is provided by the bedside lamps and directional reading lights mounted just above the bed.

A wall-mounted 32" Smart TV with built-in DVD player is provided, along with a tall mirror, a Bluetooth radio alarm clock that is also a smartphone charger and hairdryer.

A private sun trap courtyard can be accessed off the master bedroom, great for escaping for a quiet read.

The en-suite to the master bedroom is also fully tiled with striking sandstone ceramics.

This room also boasts a large shower cubicle with rainfall power shower, WC, freestanding wash basin, heated chrome towel rail, shaver point and free standing mirror. Towels and complimentary toiletries are provided for each guest. Bedroom Two The spacious second bedroom at Golden Sands is located off the lounge area with a window which looks to the side of The Sands.

The twin beds are also beautifully dressed, ensuring guests receive a sound nights sleep.

Storage is provided within the double wardrobe, a tall chest of drawers, and large bedside drawers.

A 25" Smart TV, reading lamp, hairdryer and mirror are all provided for your use. Family Bathroom The spacious family bathroom comprises of a bath with overhead shower, free standing wash basin and WC.

Fully tiled with luxurious sandstone tiles, sleek chrome fittings including heated towel rail and shaver point and a wall mounted mirror. A bath sheet, bath towel and hand towel are provided for each guest, together with complimentary White Company toiletries in each bathroom. Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching. Carbis Bay is truly a wonderful holiday location for those wanting to experience Cornwall's breathtaking coastline.
