“Serendipity is in a wonderful, easy to find location.”

Five minute walk to St. Ives town centre, down a steep hill (10 minutes back). The flat was clean and contains all the equipment for a relaxing stay. It is advertised as five star accommodation and probably would be except for the lack of general maintenance. Both towel rails only heat up when the central heating is on. Neither of the back up electric switches did anything. The extractor fan in the en-suite doesn't extract and has to be turned off manually, the usual timer is inoppererative. The TV remote needs new batteries, no spare in the "light bulb/batteries" tub. The light switch in the main bathroom is dodgy, often needing a few pulls to get it to work. For a "Five Star" accommodation, the TV is awful quality. The king sized bed has to be the coldest this side of the arctic circle. Two duvets, a fleece blanket and liberal use of a hair-dyer blowing on hot, and still I woke up many times in the night feeing cold. This was probably partially caused by the gale force draughts blowing through the ventilation slots in the window frames, which refuse to close properly.

Hi Michael Thank you for your feedback and for staying at Serendipity. I’m pleased you enjoyed the location and cleanliness, and I’m deeply sorry that some maintenance issues affected your stay. I hope they didn’t take away from your time in St Ives, especially with the lovely weather that week. We’ll review everything you’ve highlighted and take appropriate action — particularly around the heating, as it sounds like you had difficulty getting the temperature to a level that suited you. For future stays, Carbis Bay Holidays can resolve most issues quickly if contacted during the visit on 01736 809674 or via their website. Many thanks, Jonathan & Fiona Property Owner
