“Serendipity is in a wonderful, easy to find location.”

Five minute walk to St. Ives town centre, down a steep hill (10 minutes back). The flat was clean and contains all the equipment for a relaxing stay. It is advertised as five star accommodation and probably would be except for the lack of general maintenance. Both towel rails only heat up when the central heating is on. Neither of the back up electric switches did anything. The extractor fan in the en-suite doesn't extract and has to be turned off manually, the usual timer is ...

It is advertised as five star accommodation and probably would be except for the lack of general maintenance. Both towel rails only heat up when the central heating is on. Neither of the back up electric switches did anything. The extractor fan in the en-suite doesn't extract and has to be turned off manually, the usual timer is inoppererative. The TV remote needs new batteries, no spare in the "light bulb/batteries" tub. The light switch in the main bathroom is dodgy, often needing a few pulls to get it to work. For a "Five Star" accommodation, the TV is awful quality. The king sized bed has to be the coldest this side of the arctic circle. Two duvets, a fleece blanket and liberal use of a hair-dyer blowing on hot, and still I woke up many times in the night feeing cold. This was probably partially caused by the gale force draughts blowing through the ventilation slots in the window frames, which refuse to close properly.

“This was perfect.”

“Lovely apartment.”

Excellent kitchen. We found it very quiet even though it was next door to a reasonably busy road. Bedrooms very comfortable. Unfortunately we couldn't get the heated towel rails to work and one evening when it felt very cold we could work the central heating but used the rugs supplied instead. It is only a short walk into town but it is at the top of a steep hill. Very near the station but quickest route is via some steepish steps. Highly recommended but be aware if you haven't been to St Ives before there are steep hills.

“Excellent apartments and location.”

Parking facilities are a real advantage. Very good fixtures and decorations. Only complaint not mentioned is the traffic noise which is an issue especially if sitting in the patio area. Because of the traffic noise we did not use this facility which is a shame. This did not detract for the overall experience however I believe this should be mentioned in the description.

“Galinas point is nice.”

Sofa comfortable and tv good. However the apartment was only superficially cleaned. Floors not hoovered or cleaned. Bathrooms needed a better clean. Pans with dried up food were in the cupboard. Cups, glasses, plates and cutlery had to be cleaned they had bits of food on them or grease. It was disappointing for what would have been a nice apartment.

“The property was beautifully kept, and great to have the car parking.”

Beach 10 mins away and, and good time all to the town, which was great for us. Buses to Lands End and trains to Penzance nearby, so the apartment was in a really good location. We would go again. We took a relative with us, and she loved it. I think St Ives is a beautiful place in Cornwall, and has some really nice shops. Serendipity apartment was lovely.

“This is by far the best holiday rental we have rented, 5 stars ⭐️ only a couple of slight things that we’d change ( and we really would not change much as this place is awesome) the gate pin didn’t work and there wasn’t a gate tag in the apartment so to get the car into the complex my husband sat in the car, I went into the apartment to open the gate.”

The second bedroom was roasting hot only realised there was a fan in the wardrobe when we checked out! This was our fault! The holiday home was amazing - from coffee pods to welcome wine, milk and coffees thank you for an amazing family break x

“We was very happy with everything at the property and would highly recommend it.”

Only a couple of things to mention,there was a loud clicking sound coming from the on suite bathroom which woke us up at night,not sure if it was coming from the above apartment! The drainage from the main bathroom shower isn’t great. Just a-bit disappointed with having to leave by 10 am,thought this was early compared to other places.

“The apartment is beautifully presented and very well equipped, making it the perfect venue for us for Christmas.”

The only reason I have not given it a 5 star review is for the fact that no mattress was provided for the cot (we did bring bedding as this was stated in confirmation email). There was a fold our base but it is no way comfortable enough for a child to sleep on. We tried to pad it out with towels etc but our 1 year old slept terribly and ended up in bed with us most nights. We even had to arrange for a family member to drop our travel cot mattress to us so that he could have a good nights sleep. Apart from this the apartment is perfect, so was a real shame!

“The apartment is well maintained but a couple of things that might improve guests stay.”

Main double bed creaks so it was noisy if you had to use bathroom at night. Only 3 seats on balcony area, the apartment is for 4, so another chair needed. Main sofa incredibly uncomfortable if you are sitting on it for a longer period of time, such as watching a film. I also think it needs more ventilation, when we arrived the bed sheets felt almost wet and there were little black flies in the en-suite. Kept fan on in the en-suite but again smelled of dampness. St Ives is beautiful and the apartment was well situated. Had the weather been warmer we may not have noticed any dampness? We did try putting heating on for a couple of hours but then had to turn it off because it became too hot.

“Lovely property in a lovely location.”

The property was extremely well equipped - they’d thought of everything we might want. Only slight criticism was the en suite door which made the toilet difficult to get to - perhaps a bifold door on that room would be better - but that is a minor thing that did not detract from a lovely stay.

“Recently stayed at Serendipity and could not be more impressed.”

We were quite surprised upon arrival when discovering that this property is even better than the photos and description. The location is perfect for enjoying everything St. Ives has to offer. Directions to the property were excellent and easy to find. The reserved parking space in front of the property was outstanding. The property itself was very clean and in excellent condition. The kitchen had everything possible needed to have meals at the apartment. They even supplied a Nespresso machine, and I was quite relieved as I did not have to go on the search for my morning espresso. Bedrooms were excellent with comfortable beds. The living room was also quite comfortable and the 50 inch television was perfect as it kept us entertained on one of the days in which we had torrential downpours. We found the location to be quiet, did not hear any street noise. Approximately a 5 minute walk to the sands on Porthminster Beach and 15 minutes to Porthmear Beach.

“The apartment was spotless and had all the facilities you could require and more.”

However, there is no mention on your website how close this apartment is to a busy road. The traffic noise made it difficult to relax on the patio and my son found it hard to sleep as his room was next to the road. I would recommend the apartment as it's close beach and amenities but people should be aware of it's proximity to the road

“A lovely, well furnished and equipped flat.”

Great location. The barrier to enter the complex was temperamental and we had to wait 20 minutes to get it to work before we could get in which was very frustrating. The listing is a bit misleading - the terrace is much smaller than the photos make it appear and there is no mention of the road being right next to it which was quite noisy at times.

The outside area added an extra room - which is great for little ones to play in when the weather is nice, and for adults just to relax in the evening. As the weather was very good all week, we spent most of the week on the beach - as we have a three year old, and sandcastles are top of the list:) We did go out to Lappa Valley, which I would recommend as a good half days entertainment (in good weather though), for probably up to 5 year old's. The three train rides are the big selling point, although the boat ride was also reaaly good fun and easy going. An outside play area, miningolf and a nature walk are also there to fill out the day. The walk along to Lelant is also worth doing and then treating yourself to a nice lunch and drink in the Badger Inn there. Explore this gorgeous coastline via the southwest coastal path which stretches in both directions from St Ives, taking in the rugged coastline westwards to Zennor or towards the wonderful beaches of Carbis Bay and Porthkidney Sands.

For the less energetic, one of the most scenic rail journeys in the UK can be enjoyed travelling from Porthminster station to St Erth. Dining Room You will of course be tempted to sample one or many of the excellent restaurants in St Ives town, however there is a separate dining room which comfortably seats four people for you to enjoy the wonderful meals that you can prepare in your designer kitchen or from the local establishments who will deliver readymade meals. If you prefer to dine out, then the award winning Porthminster Cafe is just a short walk away.

One of the best beach cafés in Cornwall, and a favourite of our guests,' this is not to be missed.

Other recommended restaurants in St Ives are the Seafood Cafe, Blas Burgerworks and The AA rosette awarded Alba on the harbour front.

Further afield why not try a leisurely breakfast at Godrevy Cafe in Gwithian or dine in style at one of Rick Steins restaurants in Padstow. Kitchen The kitchen of Serendipity is open plan so budding chefs will not feel isolated from their fellow guests.

Finished with 'Neff' appliances and high gloss grey units, there is a microwave, electric hob, oven and dishwasher.

The owners have provided all the modern gadgets and kitchen implements that one would expect from a 5 star self catering apartment, including a coffee machine, toaster and kettle.

Guests can perch on a couple of retro bar stools at the breakfast bar. There is a separate utility room off the hallway with a washer/dryer, ironing board and iron. Sleeping Bedroom One with En-suite Bedroom one of Serendipity is beautifully furnished and has a luxurious king size bed, large wardrobe, two bedside tables with lamps and a chest of drawers.

Guests' will have plenty of storage space for their stay in this gorgeous self-catering apartment.

For those who wish to relax in bed and watch TV, a 22" LCD Freeview TV is provided, if you do feel the need to get up early there is an alarm clock. The fabulous en-suite to bedroom one is also fully tiled with those same beautiful mocha ceramics.

The sanitary-ware is white Italian-style and the fittings are again in chrome.

There is a WC, wash basin and heated towel rail and walk-in shower enclosure with power shower. A selection of luxurious towels are provided for each guest and complimentary Bedroom Two Bedroom two is located close to the main bathroom and is fitted with twin beds, a bedside table, wardrobes and a tall boy chest of drawers, providing plenty of storage for guests visiting at any time of the year.

You will also find a a 19" LCD Freeview TV for those lazy mornings. High quality bed linen is provided and a cot and high chair are provided for younger guests.

We do ask that you provide your own bedding for the travel cot. Family Bathroom The main family bathroom is adjacent to bedroom two off the hallway.

The south facing patio forms a wonderful extension to the living area, where guests' can enjoy a morning breakfast, leisurely lunch or an evening tipple.
