"Loved our stay, everything you needed was available. Location was fantastic.
Defo recommend it.
Thank you for an amazing memorable stay."
“We had a lovely stay at Sowena. The apartment was lovely, well equipped, extremely clean and well presented."
"The Sowena apartment was fantastic, very clean, modern, comfortable and very well equipped, was like a home from home. It is in an ideal location for the surrounding attractions and Carbis Bay's own beach is beautiful. We enjoyed using the train into St Ives and as a family of six plus a toddler we were able to purchase a return ticket for only £6 !!!!... then could use the same ticket on that day to continue into Penzance !! The Tesco store being just a few minutes drive away in the car was ideal for shopping. We visited the zoo at Newquay but didn't realise that the" waterworld" swimming baths were right next door so would recommend to anyone to make a day of it and if planning on going to the zoo then take your swimwear too and finish off in the pool !!! We went down into Newquay from the zoo in the little train which was better than taking the car to try and park up. The car park at the zoo was reasonable for the full day parking, we never went into the gardens (nice spot for a picnic) next to the zoo but past them on the train and they looked lovely. could probably have spent a full day there ( park, zoo and swimming baths)."
"The accommodation at Sowena was First Class !!, we had some lovely walks from Carbis Bay to St Ives and to Lelant on the cliff tops. The Badger Inn served some lovely meals. New Year is St Ives was fantastic with everyone in facny dress."
"We had a fantastic holiday at Sowena. The accommodation was beautiful and definitely met our expectations."
"Our stay at Carbis Bay in Sowena was great. We loved the comfort and found it had everything we needed . We visited St Ives by train with lovely beaches and shops ,also visited Hells Mouth and Gwithian. Just a few days stay ,but it was worth it. We found the comfort of the apartment made the holiday very special and will be booking again soon."
"We enjoyed the break very much, the accommodation was very clean, modern, extremely well equipped. Excellent service re being met (late at night) with the keys and a welcome. The HUB bar in the harbour at St ives has a balcony (heated) overlooking the harbour and has very friendly staff and a buzzing atmosphere .The Porthminster Cafe lived up to its usual high standards and the food was delicious. We used the train from Carbis bay often, (great service-always on time)."
"The standard was of first class and high quality would recommend and return if we go back to that area."
"Sowena was lovely, there was nothing more that we would have needed, it was beautifully furnished and absolutley spotless. During our stay we did a lot of walking so in the evening we just chilled out at the apartment watching tv, reading and having access to the internet was good. We enjoyed bird watching at the Lelant Saltings were we saw creane, Egret, Kingfisher, Curlew but missed the recently observed Perrigine Falcon."

"Sowena was such a pleasure to stay, beautiful bedrooms with lovely white linen (really hard to get out of bed in the mornings - but then the sun streams in through the windows - we have had lovely weather, photographs of the sea look like we are in the Med, and you remember the delights awaiting you outside). There were six of us in our party and not once were we under each others feet it was so spacious. The bathroom was lovely and airy with fluffy white towels - totally spoilt. Cooking was a delight in the modern kitchen, the little touch of milk and wine on arrival was most welcomed - everything was perfect. We do recommend the coastal walk to St Ives, not for the faint hearted but beautiful scenery and definitely walks the cream teas off!!!!. We also enjoyed lovely meals at The Loft, St Ives and The Beachhouse Restaurant, St Ives. Oh and lastly fish and chips at Becks, Carbis Bay (the portions are gigantic) you certainly need to do some walking to not put weight on after that."
We had a great time and the apartment exceeded our expectations. Not only was it impeccably clean the quality of the fixture and fitting were fantastic, with easy access to St Ives and family that live locally, it made an excellent base for us all. We would highly recommend Sowena to anybody looking for a short term base or family holiday."

"We have been visiting Carbis Bay for many years, we were delighted with Sowena and the standard of cleanliness and were impressed with how well the flat was equipped. The handover was good and we didn't have to go to an office to collect the key! Our favourite walk is to Porthkidney beach, which is never crowded, and then on through the village to Lelant station where we can get a great cream tea in the station house before catching the train back to Carbis. The Sea Food Cafe never disappoints, Onshore cafe on Wharf Road - great pasta, pizzas and fish."
"As you know we have rented several properties in the past from Carbis Bay Holidays and always had a great time and found the quality of the accommodation extremely high. This year was no exception and we thought the space and facilities offered in Sowena were excellent. Our children in particular loved the flat and we hope to return again next year. I really have no "negative" comments at all.....coming home and back to work was the only downside."
"We had a lovely holiday and the apartment was absolutely gorgeous and exceeded all our expectations. We couldn't have asked for more from a family holiday. We went into St Ives to eat and particularly like the Seafood Cafe as saw this recommendation from a previous guest. I would definitely recommend using Carbis Bay Holidays and this apartment in particular it was lovely. Thank you!"
"Re. our stay in Sowena - we had a fantastic holiday. The apartment is superb, with every convenience available. We were totally relaxed and comfortable throughout our stay. As the visitor book indicates, the apartment cannot fail to impress and it deserves its location in one of the most beautiful bays in the country. Lovely!!"
"The accommodation was lovely, as expected and to a very high standard and we enjoyed the bonus of playing Nintendo in the evenings & also made good use of the ipod docking station."
"We wrote in your guest book saying how much we had enjoyed our holiday..and praising the high standard of the accommodation. It was very comfortable, well equipped and spacious for 5 adults. We all learnt to play Wii and had fun. Everyone commented on how quiet it was enabling us to sleep on in the morning."
