Another lovely stay at Brinyloft.

Brinyloft was in a beautiful setting- walking distance to the sea and to St Ives.

The apartment was comfortable- we found the sofas comfy to sit on. The bed was quite hard but that might be fine for others. The shower was tricky to use without soaking the whole bathroom until we managed to get it tilted down wards, although the water pressure was really good. There were most things you would need and the kitchen was very well equipped. We were there during record breaking temperatures and a fan would have been really nice to have. It says in the listing that you could sit outside but there were too many pots and the tiny balcony had a massive plant on it and was covered in debris. We also had no WiFi most of the time-none of the tips in the visitor book worked. That was frustrating as we couldn’t research places we wanted to go or look anything up. However we did enjoy the setting but wouldn’t stay in that particular apartment again. I would like to say thank you for sorting out accommodation for us when our original booking got cancelled at short notice. That was great customer service.

When we arrived there was no heating or hot water.

Carbis holiday staff got a plumber out to resolve this the next day. Towards the end of our week we were going to eat in but found that the oven didn't work. We were told it would be resolved but this would be after we left. In both instances Carbis holiday staff were helpful and tried their best to resolve the issues quickly. However neither issue should have occured and I have never had a similar problem since my first Sykes holiday in 2014. This was my 6th holiday in Carbis Bay. Finally we received satisfactory compensation from Sykes. Brian Nicholls

This is a cozy apartment within the Compass Point Complex (This is our 4th different apartment).

Great location, and just a few steps onto the road. Upper bedroom is open plan mezzanine, so keep this in kind if those using are light sleepers.

Brinyloft is a lovely cosy small apartment which we have been staying in over many past years.

It's in a great location for the train to St Ives and also Carbis Bay beach and hotel. We have always enjoyed our holidays at Brinyloft but unfortunately on this occasion we experienced some very inconsiderate neighbours in the adjoining apartment with constant slamming of doors which was very loud (especially in the morning!), this continued all week despite my call to Sykes about the issue. We did still have a lovely holiday with fabulous last September sunshine but the noise from the constant slamming of doors was extremely annoying. Brinyloft is also now in need of some refurbishment especially in the bathroom, I agree with the previous comments regarding the shower which does need redesigning. l

Minor details really , grill missing from the grill pan , toilet seat needs putting on properly, shower head needs a new bracket as it doesn’t hold it in the correct position without water going everywhere, apart from that loved staying at brinyloft, very homely and comfortable

3rd time staying at this property - perfect for a small family of 3/4.

Great location near beach and station to go to St Ives. Have stayed in other properties in the same development and will be back :-)

A lovely place to stay with amazing views.

Very well maintained, was spotless. Only negative is that the shower needs updating. We would definitely stay again though.

The Bostonians clear that the upstairs bedroom was open to the lounge below.

The guide in the property also refers to this only being suitable for children of an appropriate age to sleep. We ended up putting our child in the master bedroom and us having the singles. It would be better if these were zip together beds for this reason. Upstairs needs blackout blinds The sofas and maybe rug in the lounge smelt doggy or musty and need replacing. The property could do with a hoover or dust pan and brush to be able to clean up. We had to wash up some cutlery before use as they weren’t clean. Also the bath drain is running slow and might need a clear out. Otherwise a really lovely property and loved the location. Being able to get the train to st Ives was great. We also did car visits to st Michael’s mount, godrevy and perranporth.

There is no doubt that this location is fantastic.

Very close to the train station meaning St. Ives is minutes away. If you have mobility issues this location will be tricky for you as the apartment is located on a steep hill. We stayed in another apartment in the same complex a few years ago so we knew what to expect so just mentioning to warn people. We absolutely enjoyed our week but the property could really do with some TLC. There was a strong smell of must/ damp everytime we returned to the apartment despite us having all of the windows open while we were there. The carpets were dusty and really could do with a good hoover/ deep clean. The sofas are worn out and the beds were not comfortable. We noted comments in the visitors book from 2024 pointing out some of these issues however these had not been remedied. Previous guests had suggested replacing the regular blinds with black out blinds and we would echo this suggestion. Could be fabulous, as I mentioned above, just needs some TLC.

Brinyloft is a lovely, comfortable little place to stay with lots of local walks, a train station and beach in very close proximity.

A certain amount of attention is required to some aspects of the property. The oven temperature knob is not operational and fell off at first touch and all the symbols on the appliance have been worn away, which left us searching for the manual online in order to use it correctly when cooking. There was a dirty frying pan in the cupboard, which we had to wash just so it was clean for future guests. On the whole, the kitchen would benefit from an upgrade as the lamination is separating on the cupboard doors. We needed to prop the shower head up with a sponge to prevent it from continuously drooping downwards. We also noticed it was mentioned in the Welcome Booklet that a mat is provided to place on the rug in the dining area for children’s mealtimes, however this was not found so we used a bin bag instead. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this accommodation to others. The complimentary milk, chocolate buttons and tote bag were very most appreciated, thank you.

A comfortable, well equipped apartment which we would book again in a good location for St Ives with easy access to Carbis Bay beach, station and coastal path.

However, a couple of small issues such as missing vanity in bedroom which we reported to Carbis Bay Holidays.

Every possible instruction,recommendation has been made to ensure best possible stay,from appliances to local restaurants and nothing prepared me for the morning view!

The overall stay was very good, unfortunately the electric oven had a fault which was not fixed until the Tuesday of our visit.

Which meant we had to eat out for 3 nights. Good location for the beach and the train. I would recommend that older people are informed that the car parking space is a step climb from the property.

Excellent property for a week away.

Whilst there's (virtually) no sea view from the house it's well located. Beach five minutes down the hill and Carbis Bay station two minutes away. The station is ideal both for quickly getting to/from St Ives, heading out for walks or exploring further away. The patio area is somewhat misrepresented in the photos, in reality it's a small external stairwell not suitable for sitting out. The property was clean and well presented on arrival, there are a few marks etc. but really nothing significant. Whilst the parking place is a couple of hundred metres (and many stairs) away it was no bother to load/unload at the door then park. I'd recommend Carbis Bay as a location, much quieter that St Ives but close enough to wal/train quickly. Overall I'd recommend this property and would book again.

Once this was a lovely, well thought out apartment, great decor but nine years on, needs refurbishment, from rug, shower, paintwork, chipped dishes, outdoor area broken bench.

I cannot say the info I read was dishonest, but I expected a balcony to sit on, a sea view that wasn’t just a gap between other apartments and a garden as stated, not a path to the front door. Beds were very comfortable and the mezzanine area fabulous for youngsters. A well kitted out kitchen was helpful, do let people know it’s a Nespresso coffee machine, boy, did I need a coffee upon arrival after a long journey.Unloading car tricky as parking area well away from apartment and trying to contact the emergency number upon arrival, simply got me an automated message selling this holiday! Disappointing. Thank you for milk left in fridge, a welcome starter pack would have been so nice though (including a coffee pod or two!)

Loved the property, good size, especially bedroom and perfect location for beach and station.

The bed was the most comfortable we have ever had on holiday, which is saying something as both have bad backs! Only issue was the mezzanine twin bedroom got incredibly hot so would be useful to have a fan to use up there( fortunately took ours but had to lend to my sister the week she stayed!) The turquoise bench outside the porch was sadly rotting wood in several places so collapsed a bit when I tried to sit on it and really should have been removed as could have had a nasty accident- reported it to Carbis Bay holidays. But needs to be removed from photos as definitely made it look a nice area to sit on for a drink or cuppa! A few listed items were missing when we arrived ( again reported) Bose sound system in lounge, hairdryer and small freestanding mirror in main bedroom but the rep did drop by with a new hairdryer. Bit annoying that we had to go and buy oven gloves as well, as burnt ourselves on the hot oven- surely they should be a standard? We were advised to bring tea towels but not oven gloves.

Briany Loft was a fabulous little space for us to base our holiday from.

It had everything we needed and more. It was comfortable, clean and spacious. The beds were comfy, the kids loved the little space upstairs for their room, (many hide and seek spaces) Would definitely recommend this property. Thank you for allowing us to use your home.

When we first entered couldn’t find the instruction manual which was well hidden.

The staff at Carbis bay holidays were very helpful and we eventually found it. Parking space is a bit far from the actual apartment. Other than that, location is amazing, the beach beautiful. Found the little touches very welcoming, milk in the fridge, tea and coffee available, things like bin bags and freezer blocks already there. Would definitely return.

We spent a week at Brinyloft in August ‘23 and absolutely loved it - sad that it’s already booked for my available dates last year.

Have stayed many times in Compass Point before but chose Brinyloft as was £500 cheaper - expected it to be a lesser property because of that but was so happy with it, cozy, clean and perfect for a family of 3 / 4. Parking space was a dream after staying in others that don’t have one that fit my car. Perfect base for beach holiday. Would happily stay again

Please replace rubber seal on shower screen? Can’t do anything about window sill flooding. Carpets and sofas need a deep clean: murky and stained.

Absolutely amazing location, the shower could do with an upgrade.

. if you don't get the water right water goes everywhere which is probably why the bathroom is a little damp. However this is the only thing I would say bad about this property everything else is perfect and I would stay again.

Lovely accommodation, splendid location, tasteful decor, nice welcome offerings; will stay again.

Suggestions: A sheet of contact numbers and possible device operating instructions might be useful (if one is already there we didn't come across it). Stylish low hanging lampshades, but head impacts inevitable. Many Thanks

Brinyloft is a perfect holiday home.

It was clean and tidy and bright and airy. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms had plenty of storage space, and the living area was very comfortable. Easy to follow instructions re recycling, use of appliances etc were left by the owner. It's a short walk to the amazing Carbis Bay beach, there's a lovely walk in to St Ives or catch the train in (£1 a person or discounted when booked online) and Tesco is within walking distance too. All in all we had a perfect holiday and will definitely return to this property in the future.

Lovely, clean holiday let.

Spacious bedroom and well equipped kitchen. Shower temperature is slightly tricky to moderate but that is often a problem with off-tap over bath showers. All in all a great base.

We were lucky to be near the Carbis Bay Holidays office so that when we had a problem with key collection it could be sorted out.

The telephone via Sykes just kept ringing.
