Living Area

As soon as you arrive at this special property you are welcomed by a wonderful sea view through two double French doors which open out onto your private decking area. This amazing open plan space is perfect for socialising, whether you are making the most of the great entertainment package which includes a 43” Sony 4K TV, full Sky including Movies and Sport with loop system to bedrooms, Playstation III with selection of games and Blu-ray DVD’s, iPod docking station and complimentary Wi-Fi, or just simply relaxing in the comfortable sofas, taking in the sea views and salty fresh air.

Complimentary Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum passes for two guests, including 10% discount on all purchases in their cafe and shop, can also be found in the living area.

An Italian tile floor is laid throughout, with soft furnishings which give this property a homely, seaside ambiance. A contemporary, remote control, pebble fire place, and modern radiators are provided for those cooler evenings and a wall unit houses a good selection of board games, maps and books along with the property welcome guide.

Dining Area

The dining area is situated within the open plan living space, ideally situated to make the most of the sea views. An Italian designer Kartell dining table with six Kartell chairs are provided, great for if you invite additional guests to dine with you.

If you like to give cooking a miss when on holiday, you could not be better located for ease of access to the fantastic selection of fine dining restaurants which St Ives has to offer. Why not try the Black Rock in the Market Place. A Michelin Bib Gourmand awarded restaurant, renowned locally for its use of fresh, local produce.

Kitchen

The modern kitchen at The White Lantern compliments the contemporary feel that this property exudes. With its sleek gloss white units and Silestone worktops, cooking in this perfectly appointed kitchen is a real pleasure. A digital halogen hob takes centre stage with a stylish cylindrical extractor hood suspended above and Lamona twin oven-grill beneath. Ample storage is provided along with all the utensils you could ever require to cook up a storm. Integrated, under counter fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer are provided along with a microwave, Nespresso pod machine and filter coffee machine.

As the kitchen forms part of the open plan living area, the designated chef can happily socialise with the rest of the party whilst preparing meals.

From the ground floor, a bespoke, spot lit, solid ash staircase leads you up to the first floor bedrooms.

Bedroom One with En-suite

The master suite boasts a marvellous view of St Ives Bay, stretching right across from Porthkidney beach to The Island. Light streams into this room via the remote control Velux and picture windows, making it bright and airy. A sumptuously made king size bed ensures a good nights sleep and ample storage can be found in the built in wardrobe, bedside tables and chest of drawers. A full length mirror, hairdryer, iPod docking station and wall mounted LCD TV with Freeview are also provided.

Bedroom Two

Situated to the front of the property, this room is also bright and airy. A built in wardrobe provides ample hanging and storage space. Furnished with zip and link single beds which can conveniently be zipped together to form a superking bed upon request. A bedside table with reading lamp, wall mounted LCD TV with Freeview, iPod docking station and a vanity shelf with mirror and stool are provided.

The first floor bedrooms and landing are fully carpeted, with handmade luxurious curtains to both bedrooms. Crisp white Egyptian cotton bed linen and quality towels are provided.

A complimentary travel cot, highchair and stair gate are provided; please provide your own cot bedding.

Bathroom One

The family bathroom is located on the first floor and is fully tiled with stylish charcoal grey tiles. A matching white suite comprises of a W.C, wash hand basin with storage underneath and a bath with overhead Mira raindrop shower and separate hand unit. A large chrome heated towel rail and back lit mirror are also provided.

Bathroom Two

The master bedroom boasts a stunning en-suite shower room which is also fully tiled and comprises of a W.C, wash hand basin with storage underneath, heated chrome towel rail and large walk in shower with integrated Mira shower.

A bath sheet, bath towel and hand towel are provided for each guest, together with complimentary White Company toiletries in each bathroom. Please provide your own beach towels.

Rear Decking Area

The attention to detail doesn’t stop outside, with a walled decking area to the rear, with glass and stainless steel balustrade. Split over two levels making the most of the fantastic sea views. The first level extends off the living area with a table and seating for two, steps then lead down to a larger area where a table and four chairs are provided. We recommend you make the most of this peaceful suntrap with an alfresco breakfast or early lunch, whilst watching the comings and goings in the bay. Outside lighting and a BBQ are provided so you can take advantage of this great space at all times of the day. Additional storage can be found underneath the decking, ideal for all of your beach gear.

Front Paved Area

To the front of the property, ample private parking for 3 cars is provided on the granite block driveway. A bench can be found in this additional little suntrap, making it a great place for a quiet read. A bike hoop is provided for securely chaining your bikes. There is also a very useful hanging area for wetsuits with an outdoor tap with a hosepipe conveniently provided.

    Enjoyed some nice walks around St Ives, walked to Carbis Bay, visited Porthcurno twice – beautiful beach and walked to Treen Cliff. Also, our favourite spot Godrevy point.
    Would highly recommend Talay Thai Kitchen tapas on the front, the food is tasty and ‘Beer & Bird’ Fore Street for a real choice of ales, Godolphin Arms, Marazion. With lovely views of St Michaels Mount. Really comfortable and homely here – very relaxing, thanks once again.

  • Well, what a lovely find ‘ The White Lantern’ is, we usually stay In Carbis Bay but as its out of season checked to stay in St Ives & so glad we did!
    ‘The White Lantern’ is excellent – very comfortable, clean & has everything you needed. A fab sky package, we caught up with a lot of movies!
    The weather has been great considering we were on the end of strorm Gareth! Beautiful walks to Carbis Bay, Kynance Cove, The Lizard, Sennen to Lands End & 2 visits to Mousehole & Porthleven &of cause so many times around St Ives, I’ve lost count!
    Union Inn – for first pint of Korev, Pedn Olva – Lovely Sunday lunch & fab views, Firehouse – Fab burger & pizza, Seafood Café & Café Pasta all very good. To ‘The White Lantern’ Thank you we’ve had a lovely relaxing time, hopefully we will visit again. P.S A must St Ives Gin. Happy Holidays xx

  • Our first stay one at The White Lantern and hopefully not our last. Went on some nice walks around St Ives, we recommend the walk from Porthminster beach towards Lelant, it was a very hilly walk.
    We would also really recommend giving surfing a try at the Porthmeor Surf School. We especially enjoyed eating at the Porthminster Café, Porthminster Kitchen, Blas Burgers and Halsetown Inn. My personal favourite was Blas Burgers, I would definitely recommend going there for nice homemade burgers.

  • We’ve been coming to St Ives for many years and stayed at many different apartments, houses etc but none can compare to The White Lantern. We have had a wonderful stay. The weather has been missed but it hasn’t spoilt our fun. The house is very well equipped with everything you could need. There is lots of space for out little 19-month-old granddaughter to run around safely. There are lots of lovely places to eat, we can thoroughly recommend The Cellar Bistro & The Beach Café. Also, the Pedn Olva Hotel has lovely food with fabulous views. We will be sad to go home. Well done to the owners for providing such a lovely place to stay.

  • Our 3rd time at The White Lantern; so central to St Ives centre – walked down every day, had a nice seat on the front with a coffee. We had the ‘mini beast from the East’ snow flurries on the Saturdays and snowing from 2pm Sunday – our 1st experience of snow in Cornwall in 30 years of coming to Cornwall. Some good displays of high tide/large waves coming over the sea walls Sunday evening/ Generally, the weather since then cold but sunny so enjoyed walks around St Ives, to Carbis Bay and around Godrevy. Used the passes a couple of times for the spa. Would recommend the Seafood Café and Firehouse on Fore Street also good value & great food. Mad Becks Fish & Chips Friday’s lovely.

  • We have had a lovely week here. This is a beautiful place to stay – faultless. The attention to detail is second to none, all mod cons, hi spec & spotless. Great Extras too, we enjoyed the spa, all to ourselves on several mornings. ‘Storm Emma’ , ‘The beast from the east’ & a red weather alert from the met office didn’t stop us having a wonderful week.   • What a wonderful pace White Lantern is. Very much enjoyed the cream tea out on the decking, a lovely start to a superb week. The weather has been good & we’ve done coastal walks along with visits to N.T places. I even go to see Aiden Turner as they been filming Poldark at Botallack Mine!!
    We definitely recommend the Seafood restaurant on Fore Street and also Firehouse, the ‘Sea Breeze’ cocktail is delicious. The food and service both was great.

  • A relaxing week in a delightful property, extremely comfortable & convenient. An easy walk into St Ives with all its delights and with parking which is always a bonus.
    The weather was ok – a couple of days but managed to get out & about. Plenty of eating places.
    Porthgwidden Beach Café, Seafood Cafe, Harbour Fish & Chips to be recommended. Visits to Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens - Gulval, interesting & haver a good café. Botallack mine – great scenery for Poldark fans, no filming when we were there but filming in the Cornwall area apparently.
    Sennen Cove & Penzance, The Penlee Gallery – all good.
    Used the swimming pool a couple of times at the Pedn Olva.

There are many restaurants to explore.our particular favorites are Porthminster Beach Cafe with wonderful food and extensive views through amazing picture windows or alternatively whatever the weather from the terrace which is protected and heated from the elements or covers drawn back to be able to soak up the sun if the weather is good. The Pasta Cafe in the harbour is good value and cosy with some lovely food and always busy. One of our firm favourites however is the Porthmeor Beach Cafe where you can sit in the pods with the heater blankets and cushions on the benches if required watching the surf and the sun going down with some tapas and wine for a truly magical and humbling experience. The Barbara Hepworth museum has been a favourite of mine ever since I first went to visit over 40 years ago and never fails to captivate me with the aesthetically pleasing and tactile sculptures. I Should Coco is favoured by all my children equally. The chocolate is made on the premises. They make personalised and seasonal treats so there is always something eye-catching in their window display. There are some great walks but walking from Porthminster beach through to the harbour then around Bamaluz Beach to Porthgwidden then over the island to the little chapel and down to walk the length of the Porthmeor beach to finally reach the cafe and relax is one of the best routines anyone could have. A little meander down Fore street with some of the individual shops always manages to make you part with your money! The artwork of course goes without saying as the light in St Ives is what attracts the artists and I would encourage anyone to visit all the galleries and shops you can because I could guarantee there is something for all tastes completed by artists with great talent."

It’s lovely but you have to book before you arrive! Moomaids ice cream has to be the best anywhere – why make your own? It was lovely to have the pass to the Tate and Barbara Hepworth sculpture park, and we used it a lot. We came down be train, so did not leave the town. A very relaxing holiday."

In order to make a booking, please either click on the Booking Calendar dates or enter your Arrival and Departure dates for your holiday, please bear in mind these should be a Changeover Day during April to October or in any school holiday period, unless at late notice.

For late notice breaks i.e. arrivals within 7 days, breaks are discounted by up to 20%, the dates can overlap a changeover day only if the overlap occurs within the next 7 days. Please note these reductions only apply to weekly bookings.

Short stays of 3 nights minimum are available between October and March, excluding bank holidays and school holidays. If booked in advance, the short break cannot overlap a changeover day.
