Past and Present is a luxury St Ives holiday flat ideally located in the centre of the town, with stunning sea views and easy access to the towns beaches, harbour and Fore Street. This beautiful child friendly self catering apartment is perfect for couples with an infant, or for those who are looking for romantic accommodation in Cornwall.
The living area has kept many original Victorian features, yet has a fresh New England style. This tranquil room is the ideal place to sit back and take in the ever changing panoramic ocean views across the roofs of the oldest part of St Ives, from the bay window and a further sash window to the front. Not only is this charming apartment perfect for summer holidays, but during the winter months you can cosy up on the comfortable sofa with a good book, next to the red brick fire place with wood burning stove.
Solid oak flooring is laid throughout and a 32” LED Smart television with Sky, Blu-ray player, stereo with docking station, board games and a big book shelf with a selection of magazines, books and DVDs will keep you entertained in the evenings.
There is a dining area in the main living room with an antique round table seating two. Inspiring views over St Ives and the bay can be enjoyed whilst dining in at this gorgeous property.
Should you decide to dine out during your stay, you are spoilt for choice, with an amazing selection of fine dining restaurants just a three minute walk away. The Seafood Café on Fore Street is certainly worth a try, but we recommend making a reservation as it is very popular.
The kitchen is located to the rear of the building in the contemporary extension and this is also where the entrance to the apartment is. An impressive vaulted ceiling with floor to ceiling south facing windows let an abundance of light in. A breakfast table with two chairs can also be used on the small communal patio area just outside the kitchen.
The kitchen is well equipped with a separate oven, 4 burner gas hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, Francis Francis espresso maker and full sized dishwasher. The worktops offer plentiful preparation space and fitted units provide ample storage. A good selection of crockery, glassware and utensils can also be found.
The laundry facilities are housed in the laundry cupboard off the hall, with a washer-dryer, iron and ironing board.
The generously sized master bedroom is located off the hallway within the original Victorian part of the apartment. A king size bed is beautifully dressed with luxury White Company bed linen and two matching bedside tables with reading lamps and a large built-in wardrobe are provided, so no need to travel light. A 32” LED Smart Freeview television is provided along with a hairdryer.
Luxury White Company cotton bed linen is provided in both bedrooms with a selection of high quality towels for each guest.
The family bathroom is located next to the master bedroom and provides a modern white suite which comprises of a freestanding bath, separate shower, WC and wash hand basin. A heated towel rail will keep your towels nice and toasty and a vanity mirror and shaver point can also be found.
A selection of high quality towels comprising of bath sheet and hand towel are provided per person. Complimentary White Company toiletries are also provided.
There is a suntrap, south facing small patio area just outside the kitchen, ideal for an al fresco meal for two! Please be aware that there is a right of way across this patio to access the property next door.
Barn-a-Woon, Cornish for “House on the Hill”, is a Victorian villa, originally built in 1892 as two semi-detached fisherman’s dwellings, and has been completely restored in 2013.
Barn-a-Woon is a collection of 3 self-contained holiday properties, all with harbour views: a two bedroom apartment on the ground floor sleeping 4 people, a luxurious one bedroom apartment on the first floor and a semi-detached house sleeping up to 8 with a roof terrace affording unique 180 degree views over St Ives and the bay. Usually rented independently, the three separate units could also be rented together, for those special celebrations with family and friends sleeping up to 14 people.

I thought that Lesley was lovely when I arrived, very friendly and excellent at explaining where everything was kept. In order to make a booking, please either click on the Booking Calendar dates or enter your Arrive and Depart dates of your holiday, please bear in mind these should be a Changeover Day during April to October or in any school holiday period, unless at late notice.
For late notice breaks ie arrivals within 7 days, all breaks are discounted by 25% unless the owner has set a minimum rental, the dates can overlap a changeover day if the Arrive Date is within 7 days.
Short stays of 3 nights minimum are available between October and March, excluding bank holidays and school holidays. If booked in advance, the short break cannot overlap a changeover day.
